posted by jacklazara
Nano Antivirus is the latest counterfeit (rogue) anti-spyware from the Pro Antispyware 2009 family. Nano Antivirus uses two ways to get onto your computer: with a help of pop-ups which will appear while visiting certain web sites or with a help of Trojan horse which generate fake security alerts stating that your computer is seriously infected. And the only way to remove these threats is to download and install Nano Antivirus. Once installed, Nano Antivirus will perform system scan and popup another confirmation of infection on your computer. But this infection cannot be removed until you purchase full version of Nano Antivirus. But don’t fall in trap, all alerts and warnings are completely fake, and results of that scans are falsified. Also you may notice that your computer begin to run slower after Nano Antivirus was installed. That because Nano Antivirus uses a lot of system recourses. Security experts recommends to remove Nano Antivirus using automatical removal tool with free scan.

Type: Rogue Anti-Spyware
Malware Author: Unknown
Threat Level: High

Screenshot:

Nano Antivirus Automatical Removal Tool

How to remove Nano Antivirus manually:
It's possible to remove Nano Antivirus manually, but you have to be very experienced in dealing with registry entries, program files and .dll files.

The files to be deleted:

* %Documents and Settings%\All Users\Application Data\Surround Software Solutions
* %Documents and Settings%\All Users\Application Data\Surround Software Solutions\Nano Antivirus
* %Documents and Settings%\All Users\Application Data\Surround Software Solutions\Nano Antivirus\BASE
* %Documents and Settings%\All Users\Application Data\Surround Software Solutions\Nano Antivirus\DELETED
* %Documents and Settings%\All Users\Application Data\Surround Software Solutions\Nano Antivirus\LOG
* %Documents and Settings%\All Users\Application Data\Surround Software Solutions\Nano Antivirus\SAVED
* %Documents and Settings%\All Users\Application Data\Surround Software Solutions\Nano Antivirus\nanoav.exe

Remove registry entries:

* HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Surround Software Solutions\Installer
* HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Surround Software Solutions\Nano Antivirus
* HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run “Nano Antivirus”
* HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\uninstall\Nano Antivirus 3.8

Please be careful because manual removal of Nano Antivirus may seriously damage operational system and sensitive data.
Pentagon is hiring experts to help them create the perfect iRobots of the future – machines that kill for a purpose and have some sort of laws embedded in their DNA’s to not commit war crimes like humans do. USA has hired Colin Allen, a scientific philosopher at Indiana University, who is the author of a recent book titled Moral Machines: Teaching Robots Right From Wrong. Dr Allen would be advising US military on a $4 billion research program aiming to create smart “autonomous systems” for US military.

According to The Daily Telegraph:

He [Colin Allen] told The Daily Telegraph: “The question they want answered is whether we can build automated weapons that would conform to the laws of war. Can we use ethical theory to help design these machines?”

Pentagon chiefs are concerned by studies of combat stress in Iraq that show high proportions of frontline troops supporting torture and retribution against enemy combatants.

Ronald Arkin, a computer scientist at Georgia Tech university, who is working on software for the US Army has written a report which concludes robots, while not “perfectly ethical in the battlefield” can “perform more ethically than human soldiers.”

He says that robots “do not need to protect themselves” and “they can be designed without emotions that cloud their judgment or result in anger and frustration with ongoing battlefield events”.

Extra Antivir 2.8 cannot deliver your PC from viruses and comprises viruses itself. This program has been concocted to make money from the air; well-studied though very popular trickery is used by people promoting Extra Antivir. Essential part of this trickery is a trialware. Saying that one needs to remove Extra Antivir experts usually have in mind to remove Extra Antivir trialware.
It does not mean, however, that there is no danger that comes from registered version and it is at least safe to let full version of Extra Antivir run free at your PC. Viruses included into Extra Antivir are just blocked by dll files which user receives after registration of Extra Antivir trialware, but such disabling is usually ineffective as it leads to system freezes and finally disorders hosting computer.
The trailware acts as adware, i.e. in practice it means that Extra Antivir is configured to start each time when user logs on to Windows and asks through scans and alerts to resister this copy as it is necessary to remove the threats exposed by Extra Antivir. In reality, all so called threats emanate from the strong desire of hackers to possess several bucks from each user while the real challenge to your computer safety and privacy is Extra Antivir. Click here to start scanning computer free of charge and get rid of Extra Antivir.

Extra Antivir Technical Details

Full name: Extra Antivir 2.8, ExtraAntivir 2.8

Version: 2,8

Type: Rogue anti-spyware

Origin: Russian Federation

Signs of being infected with Extra Antivir:

Extra Antivir, as a rule, starts to run simultaneously with Windows and shows you a pop-up with various active objects; the most important of them are free scan and registration options. It is thus hard to pay no attention to the presence of Extra Antivir when such pop-up is entitled “ExtraAntivir 2.8”. It may happen that pop-up fails to appear due to some circumstances, especially in case of shadowed installation and especially when it was a trojan that serves many malware that in this case installed Extra Antivir, because short version of Extra Antivir might be installed in such a case. If you have not seen any window entitled Extra Antivir, but there have been pop-ups and alerts invoking to resolve all your problems with security by installing certain software from Internet, or if your PC simply behaves in a strange manner, this could also be a reason to remove Extra Antivir; click here to identify malware and viruses at your PC and get rid of Extra Antivir and/or other dangerous residents found.

Automatic Removal of Extra Antivir from your PC:

Extra Antivir is not an orphan as there are RapidAntivirus and related malware items (all fake virus remover), which, speaking metaphorically, gave birth to ExtraAntivir, still active. They share same trojans and webs-sites with malicious scripts, also may be installed together at one PC. It is hard to predict whether Extra Antivir removal is the only one malware removal operation needed for total system cleanup. When you remove Extra Antivir in automatic mode, there is a warranty that other rogues detected and removed. Follow the link below to get rid of Extra Antivir in a way that provides total system cleanup.

What it does

An online resource that is intended for medical professionals the world over, Medting is an interactive platform whereby images and videos can be shared and discussed among colleagues in order to make better-informed decisions.

This service is provided free of charge, and the one requisite for joining this community is being a registered clinician. The images or videos that are posted are accompanied by the cases themselves, and it is even possible to refer a case to known experts within the online community for further guidance. In any event, the one who makes a post can set any image or part of the case as private and share it only with specific colleagues. It must also be mentioned that patient personal details are never stored online.

All in all, this site is a very well-put together resource that can be useful both to seasoned healthcare providers and those who are just starting out. Direct your browser to www.medting.com if you fall into either category and are interested in such an approach.

In their own words

“MEDTING is an interactive platform on web for the medical professionals over the world to share their knowledge. DBSight is a J2EE search platform for instant
scalable full-text search on any relational
database, for both beginners and experts. It
features a built-in database crawler following
user-defined SQL, incremental indexing,
user-controllable result ranking, the ability to
return results with highlights (like Google), and
categorized result counts (like Amazon). It can
easily integrate with other languages with
XML/JSON/HTML. There is a UI for all operations,
so no Java coding is necessary. Deleted or updated
records in database can be synchronized also.

In an excerpt:

Businesses today rely on a wide range of disparate applications, and tying them all together is key to keeping employees productive. Many experts say IT executives are more likely to get that kind of enterprise integration and usability with Windows Vista than with a Mac.

“On corporate networks, which are predominately Windows-based, you have to be able to tap into Active Directory and Exchange [Server],” notes Ryan McCune, solutions director at IT consultancy Avanade Inc., a Seattle-based joint venture between Microsoft and Accenture. Macs, unfortunately, don’t integrate as seamlessly with those Microsoft-based technologies as Vista does, McCune argues.
