DirectX 11 in Windows 7
2008-11-23 03:58:36 by Milo in Windows Vista Weblog

Microsoft has confirmed that DirectX 11 would be included in Windows 7. In an excerpt:

“Microsofts Ben Basaric just told us that Windows 7 will, contrary to the rather vague statement a few days ago, be delivered with DirectX 11. Furthermore DX11 will also come for Windows Vista although Microsoft wouldn’t confirm, if this will coincide with the release of Service Pack 2 for Vista.”

When DirectX 10 was released it was not compatible with Windows XP; but now with DirectX 11, Microsoft is making every effort that it would be still be compatible with a previous operating system, Windows Vista.
